Big Trash Day

has evolved into the "Bulky Waste Curbside Collection Program". It's a revision of big trash day, probably due to abuse. Big Trash Day turned into a sort of free for all mess at the end, and by mess I mean bulldozers to scoop up the totally out of control areas. It has always been a great resource for materials, a time to look forward to when in art school. Now they say if an item can be recycled or fits in a city trash bag, it is not considered for collection and will be tagged and left behind for proper disposal...anyhow I digress, since this totally sweet item doesn't qualify as big trash, but it was found curbside in a pile of junk. That's right, it's a solid state portable tv, Panasonic TR-475. Look how cute it is with it's little pop up tv screen. Totally ridiculous.
Leslie Hall is a genius...bow to the Keeper of the Gems

Maybe you've seen the animated gif of the her showcasing a fraction of her Gem Sweater collection, maybe you have heard the inspired musical meanderings of Leslie & the LY's, but have you been saved from eternal fashion damnation? I saw the sweaters but I didn't truly understand the Gospel of Lady Jams...until now.
I am in awe of Leslie Hall, and her unfaltering love and passion for Gold Pants and Gem Sweaters. I was able to check out her "Museum of Gem Sweaters" project for the Fifth Year Exhibition '06 at the School of the Musuem of Fine Arts, Boston, it was amazing. Since then I have day dreamed about the Mobile Museum of Gem Sweaters coming to my town...oh if only it were true.
